Description
Rookie card of Johnny “Pie” McKenzie, who was a rambunctious player that combined skill and a knack for “stirring the pot”. In the late 60s/early 70s he hit his stride, scoring points and racking up penalty minutes. Beginning in 1967-68 he’d score 20+ goals and amass 99 or more penalty minutes for six straight seasons. His best season came in 1970-71 when he ran up a 31-46-77 stat line and 120 penalty minutes in only 65 games. In 1972 he jumped to the WHA and played until the age of 41 in 1978-79.
