Description

Knabe was a durable middle infielder who led the league in sacrifice hits four times.  As middle infielders were seen as critical pieces to good ball teams, they often received MVP voting even if their stats weren’t overwhelming.  Knabe was in the MVP mix three times, with his best finish coming in 1912 (the year of this card’s release) when he finished in 11th place, while hitting .282.
