Description

From the classic Hassan Triple Folder issue of 1912, this uniquely designed card features two single player end panels and an action photo in the center panel.  This card has Canadian catcher Goerge Gibson, one of the best of the Deadball Era, and pitcher Lefty Leifield on the ends, while Hal Chase occupies the center panel.  Chase was a big star at the time, the best first baseman in the game.  He would eventually be pushed out of organized ball after the Black Sox scandal when allegations of gambling and throwing games came to light. His unceremonious exit from the big leagues most certainly cost him a place in the Hall of Fame.
