Description

One the most iconic images of the 1960s poster scene is this effort from the master, Wes Wilson, (BG-23 in the Bill Graham series) which apparently is the first psych-rock design to utilize photos of the bands (these were done by Herb Greene).  These shows took place at the Fillmore in San Francisco, in August of 1966, and were the last the Airplane played with singer Signe Anderson, who would be replaced by Grace Slick shortly thereafter.  There were no postcards printed with the first pre-concert posters, so these are credited by some as being done in 1967 with the second print run of the poster, or in 1974, with the third printing.
