Description
Nicknamed “The Reading Rifle” on account of his arm, widely regarded as the best in baseball for several years. Furillo was a star, hitting .300 or better five times (including a NL batting title in 1953 when he hit .344) and .290-.299 six more times. He was a member of the Dodgers for his entire 15-year MLB career, where he won seven NL pennants and a pair of World Series championships. One of the original “Boys of Summer”.
