Description
Canadian-born Russ Ford broke in with a bang, going 26-6 with a 1.65 ERA and 209 Ks as a 27-year-old rookie with the New York Yankees in 1910. He admitted years later that he used an emery board hidden in his glove hand to cut the ball, which gave it some extra movement. He never replicated his early success however, although he did go 21-6 after jumping to the Federal League in 1914. This one comes with a rarer Sovereign 460 back (of over 500 Russ Ford’s graded by PSA, only 42 have this tobacco brand).
Graded 3 VG by PSA.
