Description
McConnell was a solid hitting second baseman, but clearly had some issues with the glove, leading the league in errors in two of his four big league campaigns. If he had tightened up his defensive work, he would have found steady employment at the major league level. He ended up having a pretty good minor league career, lasting 15 seasons where he hit .307 over nearly 1,400 games. With a Piedmont back.
