Description
Dygert was a spitball specialist when the pitch was still legal. In 1906 he pitched a combined no-hitter with Rube Waddell despite being one of the lightest players in the game, weighing around 120 pounds. In 1907 on a pitching staff with three Hall of Famers – Chief Bender, Eddie Plank, and Waddell – Dygert was the number three starter and completed the season with a 21–8 record, 151 strikeouts, and a 2.34 earned run average. In the pennant stretch of October, he pitched three shutouts in four days. He would be out of baseball within a couple of years. This one comes with the somewhat scarcer Honest Long Cut back, and excellent eye appeal for the grade.
