Description
A rare card of a great HOFer from the early days of hockey. Newsy Lalonde was a star performer in both hockey and lacrosse, and was a key member of the Montreal Canadiens, leading them in scoring 6 times and in fact scored the first goal in franchise history. He was a prolific scorer who led various pre-NHL leagues and once the NHL formed, that league on two occasions. He won two Stanley Cups, and three Minto Cups (lacrosse), and went into coaching for many years. A true legend from the early days of pro hockey, this Maple Crispette issue is a low population card, with only 35 in the PSA database, of which only 13 grade higher.
Graded 3 VG by PSA. Also carries an “A” designation from PWCC for top 30% – above average – eye appeal.
