Description

Bud was a solid defenseman who split his pro career between the NHL, WHL, AHL, and QSHL, winning a Stanley Cup with Montreal in 1953. This rookie card is graded Authentic by SGC due to not meeting their “minimum” sizing threshold. It is well known that 1951 Parkies were not uniformly cut. They are often – or were – oversized and undersized. Unfortunately grading companies felt like they needed to assign a minimum size and that left out thousands of otherwise gradable cards without the ability to carry a numeric grade. It is important to note that if the grader found evidence of trimming or doctoring the Authentic grade would say so. Not so in this case, which firmly points to the original loose cutting techniques by Parkhurst.
