Description
Dykes was a long-time major leaguer who was part of Connie Mack’s Philadelphia A’s powerhouse of the late 1920s/early 1930s. He batted over .300 several times and wound up a career .280 hitter with over 2,200 hits. He went to manage for many years, leading teams in four decades (1930s, 40s, 50s, 60s), winning over 1,400 games.
