Superb example of Kiner’s classic 52 Bowman offering. Kiner’s first 7 seasons reads like something out of Fantasy Baseball. He broke in at 23 and proceeded to lead the NL in HR’s for the next 7 seasons. Over his first 8 years he hit .281 and averaged 44 HRs and 111 RBIs per season. He led the NL in RBI x1, BB x3, OBP x1, Slug % x3, and OPS x3, all in those first 7 seasons. After that a back injury robbed him of longevity, and he retired at the age of 32 in 1955. Classic baseball card of a somewhat forgotten slugger!
