Description

Clean card of Newsy Lalonde, a legend from the early days of pro hockey.  Lalonde was prolific scorer in both hockey and lacrosse and is a Hall of Famer in both sports. He was tough, and he was goal scorer who shares the record of five goals in a playoff game, most four-goal games in a playoff year (shared with Wayne Gretzky), and most goals in a Cup final game (four).   He won a Stanley Cup with Montreal (scored the franchise’s first NHL goal as well) and three Minto Cups in Lacrosse. He played half of his career in the days prior to the formation of the NHL and was a star draw at the gate in these precursor leagues.  He was also a seven-time scoring champion (OPHL, PCHA, WCHL, and twice in the NHA and NHL), a record that stood in pro hockey until Gretzky earned his 10th scoring title in 1994.  One the game’s greatest superstars!  Of the 115 total 55 Parkie Lalonde’s graded by PSA, there are only 2 that grade higher.
