1963 Fleer #56 Roberto Clemente (SGC 5)

$200.00

Great value for an all-time great!

Description

One of the game’s greatest stars, Clemente won four batting titles, achieved ended up with 3000 hits and a lifetime average of .317, was a perennial all-star and Gold Glove winner, had baseball’s best throwing arm, and was lauded for his community and humanitarian efforts. He died tragically in a plane crash on New Year’s Eve 1972. He had chartered a plane in an effort to provide emergency relief effort after a massive earthquake in Nicaragua. At the time of his death, he was still a highly productive major leaguer and there is no doubt his career would have continued for several more years. One of the hobby’s most popular names, the 1963 Fleer set provides great value for the buck, lagging behind Topps prices.

Graded 5 EX by SGC.
