There were two posters printed before the concert, this being a “Type 1” poster.  Type 2’s, which are rarer, have a straight 1-inch-long vertical line above the “M” in the word “Auditorium”, whereas the Type 1’s shows a zig zag line.

This early 1966 poster promoted a Fillmore show with the Grass Roots, Quicksilver Messenger Service, and the Family Tree.  Among the three acts the Grass Roots would gain some fame outside of San Francisco charting consistently through the early 1970’s.

Although this carries the BG-0 series number it was actually released before BG-03. Art is by Bonnie McLean, who was mostly known early on for her chalk “coming soon” signs within the Fillmore venue.  She would go on to marry promoter Bill Graham and establish herself as one of the preeminent poster artists in the late 1960’s.

The condition is Near Mint!
