Description

This postcard promotes a Family Dog show at the Avalon Ballroom in April 1967 with the Charlatans (who were at the forefront of SF’s psychedelic scene), Sparrow (which later became Steppenwolf) and Canned Heat.  The art on this piece – FD-56 in the Family Dog series – is by Rick Griffin who’s popular advertising-theme is prominent, along with George Hunter from the Charlatans and rock photographer, Herb Greene.  Printed once, prior to the concert.

Condition is EX-MT with a small bend in the lower left-hand corner.
