Description

This is an original pre-concert postcard-sized handbill for the Velvet Underground, October 31 to November 3, 1968, at the Retinal Circus, in Vancouver, BC, Canada.  These shows occurred soon after the departure of John Cale, marking a shift in the band’s sound.  Also on the bill was the Black Snake Blues Band.  Recent sales include one at auction in November 2025 that sold at $225 USD.  Art is by Frank Lewis, and it is the last card/handbill in the Retinal Circus series.  The club would soon close its doors for good a month later.

This scarce blank-backed handbill measures 5″ x 7″, on thin orange paper stock, and is in a gorgeous Near Mint condition.
