1887 N184 Kimball #19 Hardie Henderson (SGC 1.5)

$500.00

Over 135 years old!

Description

Great piece of baseball antiquity, issued as part of the Kimball’s Champions set way back in 1887. The set features prominent sporting stars, with a handful of baseball players, presented in stunning lithography. Henderson was a pitcher who lasted 10 seasons at the top levels of organized baseball. He was a drinker and brawler who got info frequent problems, on the field and off. He played into the 1890s in minor/outlaw leagues, and even umpired a bit. He died tragically in 1903 at the age of 40 after being hit by a train.

Graded 1.5 FR by SGC but presents well beyond the grade with plenty of visual appeal (particularly when you consider the card is 137 years old!).

Graded 5 EX by SGC.
