One of artist David Singer’s most memorable and popular posters! This one promotes a series of shows in March of 1970 held between the Fillmore West and Winterland venues in San Francisco and featuring Chicago, the James Cotton Blues Band, Family and Fritz.

Chicago was riding a wave of popularity after the release of their self-titled LP a year earlier.  Cotton, a Mississippi bluesman, was a popular act at many of the San Francisco and West Coast gigs.  Family was a British rock-folk act that was also known as early purveyors of what became “progressive rock”.  Fritz, a central California band, was fronted by Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, who of course would go on to fame and fortune a couple of years later as members of Fleetwood Mac.
